Show History

The show opened in Mexico City with great success, with the Thomas Jefferson Musical Theatre Company Foundation, a prestigious Mexican musical theatre group with international credits including the New York International Musical Theater Festival (NYMF ’09) , the DAEGU International Musical Festival and Shanghai's WorldExpo  2010.​

About the Autor 

Edgardo Lar Stage Author, Director, Producer, and Vocal Coach. 

Edgardo Lar is an author, director, and producer whose career spans theater, television, and corporate entertainment.

As a writer, one of his original musicals achieved a landmark 100-performance run at Mexico City’s renowned Insurgentes Theater.

He has directed celebrated Mexican productions including “La Villa de Santa”, “Circo, Maroma y Teatro”, as well as the first Mexican stagings of Disney’s “High School Musical The Musical”, and “Lyle the Crocodile”. 

In 2025, the school version of his show ALADINO The Musical was performed in Sydney, Australia.

Edgardo is the founder and former Artistic Director of the Thomas Jefferson Musical Theater Company Foundation, an organization dedicated to instilling values such as teamwork, leadership, and self-confidence in young people through the discipline of musical theater. Under his direction, the foundation gained international acclaim, performing at the New York International Musical Theater Festival (2009), the Daegu International Musical Theater Festival in Korea (2010), and at the Shanghai World Expo.

In the corporate sector, Edgardo has written, produced, and directed large-scale productions for major brands including Disney, PEPSICO, Procter & Gamble, and Nestlé. 

His television work includes serving as a judge on Disney’s Mexico reality show “High School Musical: La Selección”.

Above all, Edgardo is a dedicated vocal coach, a role that reflects his greatest passion: helping his students to discover and develop their strengths.
